River Moscow embankment by the Nikolski church Area of project: 4 hectares
1. Development of the planning concept of the territory with considering the principles of creating Orthodox gardens and the idea of opening up space for a wide range of visitors.
2. Development of the territory landscaping conception.
3. Developing recommendations for optimization of production costs of work on landscaping and gardening.
The dominant accent in projecting a garden at an orthodox church is the church itself, not the landscape. The proposed planning has the nature of landscape and is focused on planning and visual space axis.
The stylobate and the next contiguous arranged space are set aside for public religious events.
Inculcations are designed to emphasize the planning axis, and also to visually isolate glades from each other and from adjacent building area.
A big number of glades allow families and small groups of people have a rest apart of each other.
The broad embankment has a descent to the water and pier.
On the whole projected area there is a system of viewpoints and places for taking photos on the background of the key objects of architecture and landscaping.
The proposed planning creates spaces for mass and individual recreation. The project is part of a unified system of Moscow embankments and has a convenient transit system.
